I love the book, Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist.
Great book.
And the kernel of truth in that book, the main lesson is you need to find your personal legend and you need to follow it with all your heart.
And when you do, the world will conspire for your success.
The things that you would have never imagined happen, happen to you.
so if to that person that you're talking about i would say sounds like probably you've you've got some habits that need to be looked at and dismantled you've you've you probably you may have some um uh for coping strategies um really sit down with a piece of paper i would say and write down who you are and who you're not
Or who you don't want to be and then live it, start living it one moment at a time.
I have a big cardboard thing in the back door of my office and it's all the things I am and all the things I don't want to be, you know?
helpful bully um uh useful arrogant you know and i i recognize that all those things that are not desirable some are some small part of my personality and i guess i don't know if i can ever totally eliminate them but i it's not what i want to be so i would focus choosing the other things exactly uh-huh

Well, my answer was, if you want to get rid of worrying about other people's opinions, get rid of your own opinions.
Another Epictetus quote, what somebody else thinks of me is none of my business.
So I think that as we become less judgmental of others, as we have...
you know, let go of our opinions of others, we let go of our opinions of ourselves.
I think that's the path to greatness.
It's challenging.
I haven't mastered it.
