And part of ADHD is not having
necessarily good judgment in the effective medicine or not being able to tell what the difference is.
So that's why it's important when you're evaluating medication or diagnosing ADHD to get input from a variety of people.
Now in children, what's nice is we usually have parents and teachers that can help us.
Uh in adult ADHD it's a little bit more challenging.
So uh so I I guess the message is that medicines are really helpful for symptoms um and uh it can make a difference, but it's really important to have a plan to measure the effect uh and it's useful to get measurement from different sources.

And and also do I want what science is can tell me, or am I gonna listen to, you know, what uh my neighbor down the block told me uh or or I saw on TikTok, uh, which isn't validated.
And and that's I guess that's the
That maybe the the third important point, if I can remember the first two.
But um w we know now from 30 years of experience that ADHD medicines uh are very effective and they're among our safest medications.
Um
Uh there's great research that's coming out of the Scandinavian countries, uh, where they keep track of everybody and they have their health records and and their school records, um, again showing the benefits of medication on lots of functional outcomes that are really important.
Yeah.
Um and and then you think about what the reasons that people
Don't use medicine.
Um uh
All medicines have side effects, but at least we understand the ones that are associated with ADHD medicines that are approved.
