And I think we are uh there's a recognition that that ADHD isn't just a simple disorder with a simple treatment.
I mean, our early models were kind of thinking of it like as an infectious disease.
Uh you treat it with a stimulant medication and then you're done.
Um, but now we know that, you know, throughout the lifespan
The symptoms change, the impairments change, and the treatments change.
And it's very different treating a seven-year-old, a fourteen-year-old, or a twenty-seven-year-old in how you approach it and how they respond.
Yes, and and what comes with ADHD.
Um so uh what we call ADHD simplex, someone that has just ADHD is relatively rare.
Um so when you see ADHD, it often comes with other
medical and other psychiatric conditions.
And you can't, uh I don't think you're doing a good job of diagnosing ADHD when you just ignore them and you say ADHD yes or no.
It's really looking holistically at um uh all of the problems that an individual has and all of their strengths and using that to develop a treatment plan.
And it's a plan that changes over time.
Um and
as the the person ages, uh as they respond to treatment and their response to treatment kind of guides you on the next steps.
But it's not like one and done, you know, you do this medicine and then it's over.
Although, you know, one of the things that the most robust uh things about ADHD is the response to medication, at least acutely, uh, for core ADHD symptoms.
And we certainly don't want to lose that, but it's far beyond uh uh
uh simple medication treatment for a sh short period of time.
Yeah.
