Yeah, so sleep is important in general, of course, and there's different components to sleep.
Duration has to be long enough.
It's quality, so it shouldn't be fragmented.

different stages for sleep to be recuperative and that also needs to be regular so you're always going to bed at the same time always getting up at the same time is important and then there is like what we call a sleep architecture so there's different sleep stages there is like light sleep there is deep sleep and there is
REM sleep stands for rapid eye movement sleep.
And these sleep stages have like kind of different functions.
We also cycle through them, you know, rhythmically through the night.
The deep sleep is front loaded in the first few hours.
The REM sleep is, you know, predominantly appearing in the last few hours.
And, you know, REM sleep is very important for memory consolidation, especially procedural memory.
So everything that's, you know, related to movement or doing some movement tasks.
but also for emotional regulation.
It is, you know, staying emotionally healthy has also been implicated in post-traumatic stress disorder and is actually also linked to some neurodegenerative disease.
For example, if you are about to get Parkinson's disease, you know, changes in REM sleep are an early sign or symptom that that may be happening.
