And around the same time, we experienced a very serious patient safety event that really reinforced how critical that healthy communication and that psychological safety are within the care teams: nurse to nurse, nurse to doctor, doctor to nurse, nurse to health unit coordinator, or technician.

And for us, that was a turning point.
We realized that this was not one individual or one event.
It was about the culture in the emergency department.
We knew that we needed to invest in creating an environment where.
Every team member felt respected, that they felt empowered to speak up.
And that were supported in those really difficult conversations.
So that's really what led us to reach out to Renee and your team.
And we really recognize that the culture that we were in right now and the fact that we needed to improve that wasn't optional.
It was going to be foundational to supporting our team and providing the safe patient care for our patients.
