And fortunately for the gambling industry and related industries, they figured that out.
Unfortunately for the people who are being consumed by that, um, they don't have the same access to what they need to really uh combat and overcome what what they're experiencing.
No, people get addicted to gambling when they are winning and when they are losing.
So it's uh definitely a bit of both.
But uh chasing losses as we discussed earlier is definitely one of the uh uh one of the most notable criteria when it comes to whether someone has a gambling problem or not.
So the losses play a very big role in how someone approaches them.
If someone just
Says, you know what, I accept these losses.
It doesn't matter.
I've learned my lessons here and I'm moving beyond this.
That's a different story.
But if I again attach a very specific meaning system to those losses and then gambling factors into how I approach those losses, especially how I might be able to get those back.
That's a different story.
That's a fact.
Uh that's a fact.
And I uh it it's devastating to know that.
Um and the suicide rate, I mean, it doesn't just include completed suicide, it it also includes just suicidal ideation.
And uh I tell you when I was uh I like I mentioned, I used to work at a clinic and most people that uh that were there at some point they had thoughts about ending their life.
Even if they didn't act on it because of gambling.
