Yeah, it becomes more and more important to you.

You dedicate more and more time to it because it's not just about the hobby itself, it's about the people that you're surrounded with and what it gives to you as well.

Birdwatching is just more accessible.

I think historically you had to spend like 40 years to absorb all the knowledge versus we're able to share it much more now on social media.

I think it's a snowball.

People are going like, oh, maybe this is a cool... Maybe cool is a strong word.

Maybe this is a cool hobby.

I was nine days old the first time my parents took me birding.

I think most of my first memories are probably actually of bird watching.

There's something so special about finding nests in your garden though, like I remember the last few years in a row there's been this blackbird right in the ivy outside the front door and like kind of like peeking right in there and like seeing all the mouths, like it's so, so special.

That's really cool.

Yeah.

Okay, now I'm really jealous.

That's the thing as well, when you're not like actively seeking out nests, that you just kind of come across them.

People, especially dog walkers, can come across like kind of ground nesting birds, like waders and stuff like that.

And because they're just kind of, I guess like the cow use, they're just kind of on the ground.

But I feel like a really cool behavior that people don't necessarily know about is like distraction displays.

So it's basically when you're getting too close to the nest and the birds are like purposely trying to get your attention to distract you to save their chicks basically.
