And that becomes what we call this organizational silence when it comes at sh really.
that norm and that working for this place is well known that no one can say anything and we want to prevent that.
I I think um the optimal size for teams and got going off the top of my head here is often around six to eight people.
But this is just a ballpark number because it depends on
how like the roles of the different members in the team, but also like what is the goal of that team or like what is the lifespan of that team?
Is it uh are people just getting together to get a project done or is it an ongoing team that will work together for years, for example.
So I think whilst there is kind of like perhaps a suggested magic number of team size, we often have to think about the nature of the work that is being done as well.
A lot of the research at the moment focuses a lot on what individuals should do.
But I also want to acknowledge that many of the work that our listeners probably are doing make it very difficult for us to take initiative.
Like in a lot of jobs, we're already doing so much.
Right.
So you hear a lot about resilience training or individual, like kind of professional development.
And this is all great.
Great when we do have the time, the energy, the resources to do something like that.
But a lot of the times if we work in a resource constrained environment like in healthcare.
like in mining, for example, we often don't have that time and that energy and resources to
develop and train ourselves um to you know to speak up more to build a stronger relationship with our leader to feel safer for example so i want to start first off like with what organizations should do so reviewing what silence looks like and understanding where the pockets of silence are is the first really good step.
You have to be able to understand like why is this team more silent another team in the same organization.
So there's something unique about
That and leaders play a role, as I mentioned earlier, like
