I was in a very memorable Uber ride not long ago in LA, 23-minute ride.

The driver, there's an Iranian flag there, and he was clearly an older Iranian gentleman, but very crusty, rough, tough-looking kind of guy, right?

And older gentleman.

And I sat down and I asked him, can you tell me how you feel about the war?

And it was clear that I wasn't, you know, I wasn't making small talk.

Like I wanted to know, how do you, I would really want to know, how do you feel about this?

And he was a little slow to start, but once we got going, became clear, he had no love lost for the regime.

In fact, his son, his 15 year old son was killed in a protest, was shot in the neck.

He went back to Tehran to pick up his body against all the advice he was getting.

He was in Doha running a company at the time.

He went back to get his son's body against all advice.

He was arrested, thrown into a prison, a dark prison.

He had to sell his business to pay ransom to get out of prison.

Never did get his son's body.

Eventually made it to the U.S.

with his two daughters and his wife.

Another son is in Europe.

They applied for asylum for years, were denied during the first Trump administration.
