You're not going to make them feel better.

But the feeling better part isn't necessarily what makes the interaction feel meaningful and worth having.

It's, have you seen this person?

Have you taken an interest in them?

Have you really created a connection?

That's what people find to be really rewarding.

And all too often, I think we avoid asking people meaningful things because we're overly worried about how they'll respond.

This happened to us.

We lost a baby six months into my wife's pregnancy.

July 11th of 2016 was when we got that news.

And that loss...

was compounded by loneliness that comes after it as well.
