People think it's not going to matter very much.

It's going to be misinterpreted.

But if you walk around looking for kind things to share with other people, it's a very positive experience for you and even more positive for them.

As I was writing this book, one of the really fun things about doing it as a researcher, because I spend all the time with data and experiments, but when you write a book, you also get to talk to people who are putting this stuff into practice.

So I had a conversation with Celine McGee.

She runs what she calls the Compliment Squad.

It's kind of her passion project.

And she learned about the power of compliments years ago.

She remembers this very vividly.

She was having a garage sale.

She put up signs around and advertisements like in the local newspaper.

And one of them was things like, come turn our trash into your treasure or something like that.

And other ones were, come by for your compliment.

And what she said, she so vividly remembers that lots of people came by asking for their compliment.

Nobody came by talking about turning trash into treasure.

And she also found that when people came by asking for a compliment, she had no trouble coming up with one.
