Did we know that this was going to shift the way Australians think?

Well, I think Australians are a lot more accepting now of government policy that restricts, impedes...

you know, the individual and what they can achieve in life.

And that's why, like, this is how you link COVID to capital gains tax changes, to negative gearing changes.

And there's people who believe in the success of the individual being absolutely conducive to the success of the country.

And that's people like you and me, I presume.

And we think, hang on,

We've got to help the individual succeed here.

But there are still a lot of people in Australia as a result of COVID who think the opposite.

And the principles are exactly the same.

They sit there and go, we want the collective to succeed.

And if we have to chip away at the success of the individual to get that, then we're happy to vote for it.

So there is actually...

for the first time ever, probably in the past 30 years, a fundamentally different choice in politics in Australia at the moment.

Like left and right is very, very different in terms of the choice that Australians have to make at the ballot box.

That's where I'm at.

I mean, in my mind, Mark, a strong individual makes for a strong family, makes for a strong country, and then government can step in to help the people that need to be helped.

We've got a very different government at the moment who is picking and choosing, often based on identity politics.

who the winners and the losers should be, weakening the individual, which in my view is going to weaken the country and make us less able to help the people that need it.

Now, the biggest trick that progressivism ever pulled was convincing people that it united a country.
