We need it to belong to them enough.
To inspire them to show up and feed us or keep us safe enough the next day.
So in childhood, if and when, as I think you and I both agreed, the larger majority of have not had all of our needs met in childhood.
When we don't have a caregiver that's either present to us physically, or they're neglectful, or abusive, or they're emotionally distant, or whatever it is was the case.
Because our mind is always trying to make sense of the world, like I was sharing earlier.
In those moments, especially again, I'm not talking about a one-off moment.
I'm talking about the consistent actions or inactions of caregivers around us.
In our childlike way of trying to make sense of it, we don't have the ability, the maturity, the understanding to zoom out, right?
Like we gain an adulthood and say, Oh, well.
This is why mom, dad, or whomever couldn't be present because of their childhood, because of their work, because of their all the reasons why it has nothing to do with us.
the safest evolu explanation that we'll land on, which is also evolutionarily valuable because we can't switch out the parents, we can't leave them, right?
Is to land on the determination, the belief
That we are unworthy.
Of their care.
And then of course we get really attuned and savvy to determine why.
We're too dramatic.
We're too much.
We didn't succeed enough.
We didn't do it.
Right.
