Okay, so this episode is specifically about tools.

So we're talking about opening questions.

Open questions.

We're talking about marrying.

We're talking about prompting.

You have to try these in actual life.

So I teach these communication skills and many others in my professional job.

And the one thing that I would tell you is it doesn't make you a better communicator to have really good communication ideas.

It will not make you better.

It's sort of like if you want to get physically fit and you go, I'm just gonna read a lot of books about the gym.

That's great, but it will not make you fit.

You'll just know a lot about gym equipment and that's not gonna make you fit.

So the homework that I'm gonna give everyone is pick one of these three tools and pick a context.

So decide I'm gonna use mirroring at work, or I'm gonna use open questions with my spouse, or I'm gonna try prompting with my neighbor.

And I'm just gonna try it.

But here's what I would also say.

I don't think you have to be good at it or do it all the time, but you have to do it some of the time because it really won't show up in your skill set unless you do it.

So there's another idea, which is you could decide the easiest place to practice communication tools.
