Okay, maybe there is something to this, even though this really sucks.

And, you know, to the point that I'm so disgusted with myself.

I hate to admit it that, you know, I wouldn't even look at myself in the mirror because I didn't want to face, you know, what I saw.

But God said, I'm going to use you.

And I didn't have the answers.

I didn't have a roadmap at the time of how that was going to work.

But I knew that, as I had mentioned in my talk, my mess had a destination.

I just hadn't seen it yet.

And I didn't know what was going to come of that and how I was going to be able to use that.

But as time has gone on, I mean, that was...

couple of decades ago and looking back at things now especially when I mentor you know pre-medical students and tell them what really happened because we don't talk about this enough and medicine I think is I mean that's a

conversation for another day right there but even as women as professional women we don't talk enough about the things the bad things right that happen to us the things that scare us the things that cause us embarrassment or shame um we tend to brush those things aside and keep them quiet

But I'm living proof, and I think that's why I'm so vocal about this, that no, those are the very things that we need to be talking about.

And up until about 2022, I never told anyone what happened to me, not even my parents.

Nobody knew in medical school and certainly as physicians.

I mean, you don't advertise your shortcomings, right?

You don't do it because you are supposed to be it, right?

You were supposed to be smart and have it all together.

I talk about it, you know, about the unwritten rules of high achievers, right?

You were supposed to be smart.
