Strategy number two,

you need to equip your charge nurses.

You need to train them.

I'm sorry, but I cannot tell you how many charge nurses were put into the role without any training.

I was one of them.

I'll never forget the one day I walked in and my manager said, guess what?

Good news, you're in charge today.

And I'm like, I have no idea what that means.

I have no idea what being in charge means.

I've never done it before.

But, you know, you figure it out.
