So there is a phenomenon, which I think we talked about it the last time I was on the podcast. It's called TOFI, T-O-F-I. Thin on the outside, fat on the inside, real medical term, 1500 Medline citations coined by Dr. Jimmy Bell, neuroimager at University College London. You can be thin sick and you can be fat healthy. 20% of obese people are fat healthy. Now, 80% are fat sick, I agree.

From the metabolic labs and for the diseases of metabolic syndrome, type two diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, cardiovascular disease, cancer, dementia, fatty liver disease, polycystic ovarian disease, the diseases that are killing Americans. 75% of health care dollars are due to metabolic syndrome diseases. That's sugar drives.

So 20% of those people that are obese, they still could be healthy. Absolutely. Conversely, 60% of the normal weight population have the exact same diseases as do the obese. Normal weight people get type 2 diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, cardiovascular disease, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. Okay. Now they get it at a lower BMI. So it can't be the obesity because they're normal weight.

They're below, their BMI is below 30. They're thin sick as opposed to fat healthy. So just because you're thin doesn't mean you're healthy. And just because you're fat doesn't mean you're sick. So there's this thing called TOFI. So my question to everyone listening to this podcast right now, look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself the question, am I a TOFI?

Right? Well, it could be very little body fat percentage. Depends on where the body fat is. So you're talking about abdominal body fat. No, I'm talking about liver body fat. Liver body fat. Liver fat.
