And so it's something that if someone wants to try something in the more like natural realm,
I'm for it.
Okay.
Wow.
I mean, glycolic acid can be very helpful for acne.
It is the most potent of the AHAs or the alpha-hydroxy acids just because it's a very small molecule.
It can penetrate more deeply into skin than the other alpha-hydroxy acids like lactic acid or mandelic acid.
And for a lot of people,
Their acne is due to clogging of their pores and sort of that dysregulated skin cell turnover.
So glycolic acid can help break apart those dead skin cells and help with that.
It's not well studied in terms of the data that shows that that is a great acne treatment, but I can absolutely see how it could be helpful for people.
So do you like the idea of doing only that plus SPF for a few months?
It wouldn't be the thing I would start with.
I would pick, if you're going over-the-counter things like Adapalene or Differin Gel, which you can get at the drugstore because there's much more data to support that that helps regulate skin cell turnover.
It's also anti-inflammatory.
The issue with glycolic acid, even though I love it, I have glycolic acid products in my own skincare line, is that it is stronger and then you run the risk of people disrupting their skin barrier.
Using that every single day can be too much for a lot of people.
I'm so proud about that.
The SPF is really great and that also can help with inflammation around acne and scarring.
I would put this as like a C because I'm not anti-glycolic acid and it has a lot of beautiful benefits for the skin.
