Obviously, the Islamic State and Al-Qaeda and Boko Haram and Al-Shabaab, all these groups, they're different in a variety of ways.
Some of them would consider others apostates because they're not sufficiently rigorous in their theology, but they're generally aligned on one thing, which is that
If you are a believing Muslim, it is incumbent upon you to convert, subjugate, or kill the infidel, right?
And this is non-negotiable.
And I'm not saying that all Muslims everywhere are living this way, obviously, and that's a very good thing.
But this radical core of the Muslim world, which we can call Islamist in the kind of the general political orientation, but jihadist
in terms of those who are willing to sacrifice their lives now for the cause.
This is an enormous problem in 100 countries, right?
And Israel is just the canary in the coal mine, revealing just what an emergency this can become for any society.
Well, no, it's just my sense.
First of all, I would there are a few caveats to add to the words you just put in my mouth.
I mean, again, when I'm talking about these things, I'm talking I'm not talking about people as much as I'm talking about the power of ideas right now.
Obviously, people are to one degree or another are infected by these ideas.
Right.
So, you know, I'm worried about.
I'm worried about violence and the conditions we create for it.
But really, this is ideas.
This is not a matter of race or ethnicity or country of origin.
Nothing I'm saying impugns Arabs or people from Pakistan or Persians per se.
Everything I'm saying applies just as much to a white guy in Marin County
