And of course, coaching isn't aimed to be therapy, but I have done quite a bit of work and training in CBT, motivational interviewing.
So I bring those into the coaching as well, but it's not looking back.
But sometimes we need to look and understand, not to psychoanalyse, but just to understand, okay, that's why that happens.
I think there's a lot, I've done a lot of trauma-informed work as well and just understanding that generational, the generational patterns, all of that.
So I think my approach is, is deep.
and that's built on that creating that safe space is so so important isn't it to create that safe space so although I try not to overshare I think sometimes a little bit of sharing to sort of say I get this or um aligning myself with maybe the start can just be helpful for people to know some of my journey but then it's very much all about the person isn't it I'm not going to fix
you it's not about me having the answers it's creating that time and patience and no judgment to allow people to be where they're at and go at the pace they're at i even think of a couple of people i've been coaching recently someone who's very early in their career someone who's a lot further on in their career and and actually said their level of insight is quite different um and their level of self-awareness is quite different but that's fine because it
meeting people where they're at.
Where they are, which is important.
So yeah, I'd say that's the approach that I generally take.
limiting beliefs and even boundary setting and that kind of thing as well as understanding where our behaviors come from and yeah i think so and what do you particularly you talked about limiting beliefs what is it about the cognitive behavioral approach that you find so powerful
Oh, sure.
I think there's so much, isn't there, about embodiment now.
I think I've spent quite a lot of my career and also quite a lot of therapy that I've gone through or had in my head.
And then I realised actually, yeah, that's great, it has its place.
But sometimes it's very much more about listening to your body, what's going on for our body, what's happening there.
And yeah, that is so, so powerful and actually can make changes in a really different way.
Oh, that is a good question.
I think it has to be around boundaries because that's an area that I've been working on myself over the last probably 20 years.
I think I became quite clear in coaching that boundaries was not something I'd ever consciously thought about.
