Um, I understand what you're saying and and I agree.
I I don't think that that is um at play with executive functions.
Mm you might have been thinking of that when when we were discussing in the book about materials, maybe.
And how we can support students inhibition by being careful about when and how and where we're putting materials and and that they're not acting as temptations, but
Um, I don't think, you know, designing a classroom that is executive function friendly is in any way going to stifle our students' creativity.

A lot of our work comes from Adele Diamond, who's one of the seminal researchers on executive functions.
And so I I see newer sort of publications, papers about executive functions.
And I see them they're much more behavioral based.
Um
And there's much less focus on the cognitive piece, which this book was a balance between I want the audience to understand the actual science, but just enough, right?
Like but make it
Talk to me about it in a in a way that makes sense for what I do every day.
Um
So that to say, the newer work I think is less focused on what you're talking about, Tom, on the empirical evidence, the studies and the experiments that were done that
gave rise to these, you know, the core and the higher order.
Um, and like what you were saying, Emma, a lot of them will say executive function skills and how to grow executive function behaviors.
And the reason why the science matters
