We are not growing our students' executive functions.
Those of us that study working memory, we know that.
working memory capacity.
Now our students, their working memory is growing.
But as adults, working memory training, things like that, we're not growing our working memory.
But what we are doing is we are maximizing what our students have in the moment.
So as adults, even whatever we do to support our working memory, it's not because we're making our working memory capacity larger.
It's because we are doing things to save what we have and use it more efficiently.
And so that's when I think some of the publications that talk about the skills and the behaviors.
I I wanna use the caveat to be careful because what we are we're not actually changing the student.
We're changing the environments.
to preserve whatever they have.

It's happening on its own, right?
But I certainly can design a space that is appropriate for their height.
They're all little, they have little chairs, they have low tables, things like that.
So it is not about sitting down and saying, today we're going to talk about your working memory and I'm going to make your working memory.
bigger, have have more capacity.
It's not about that at all.
