It's about saying
I to yourself because you don't have to talk to your students about it.
I know
that your working memory is limited.
A as is all of ours, but particularly when you're six years old.
Um, and because of that, I'm gonna be very careful in the way that I deliver instruction, in the way that I give directions, um, in how I chunk activities, things like that.
So yes, this is very much comes from empirical studies, sound science.
But I'm glad that that resonated with you.
And I think that's because you are a fellow.
primary educator that you understand.
And that's why my message is always you cannot give a blanket statement and say this is applicable for five years old to eighteen years old.

Yeah, so we try to structure in the book.
um the two main goals to support our students developing executive functions.
The two being we want to decrease interference.
So interference being anything that is using up your students' cognitive bandwidth that is not related to the learning.
So it could be things that are visually enticing that are pulling your students away from instruction.
So it's really challenging their ability to inhibit.
