We built a tool that would take a history from a patient, completely free text, and generate a dynamic.

Diagnosis, high dye, history to diagnosis.

Um, and we so we built a lot of software and technology with this like premise that no one would be able to build the models we had.

And then GPT-4 came out and that changed the rules because everyone now had a model that was actually better than what we had, and it was available to everyone and it was entirely uh cheap.

You know, it didn't cost that much to run.

So the the hard thing was

I guess like admitting that you'd spent two, three years on like the wrong direction, basically like, you know, look at all your customers, your team in the face.

We had to fire half the team, tell customers that we weren't going to fulfill our promises, tell investors that like the thesis that they invested behind was not correct and that models was no longer a differentiating factor.

And actually, in order for Heidi to succeed, we had to

pivot to be a product company and we'd still learnt a lot and you know we felt like we could still build an amazing business.

But like the I think the the the I guess maybe you know the team that that left were brave.

Um, you know, that I I don't feel those never feel good about doing those things.

But I think it was a courageous decision to take.

Like I've seen other companies who haven't made that pivot and are just a bit screwed now.

evolved to this new world.

And yeah, I guess uh everyone involved, like the investors were brave for still backing us.

Um the people that stayed were like, you know, kept their trust, like they believed in us despite having to rebase the team.
