Caffeine is neuroprotective.
So if you can tolerate them, don't just take blanket advice because I don't necessarily know if that's going to change your hot flashes.

And note that most of the talk around alternatives to HRT are around hot flashes because...
That's the most uncomfortable thing that most women complain about.
But I don't think.
I think pain is a huge symptom.
I think urinary urgency.
I think anxiety.
I think sleeplessness, change in mood and affect, brain fog.
All of those are some top symptoms that don't get nearly as much play as vasomotor symptoms.
Make sure that you address all nutritional deficiencies.
Work with somebody who can help you with that.
Vitamin D, vitamin E, zinc, omega-3s, magnesium.
Those are some of the top ones that can impact things.
I'm not a huge fan of soy or phytoestrogens.
I never have been.
And all through school, all through all my training, that was what everyone said to give your perimenopausal and menopausal patients, give them soy, give them soy.
Thankfully, the North American Menopause Society came out with a statement in 2023 and they argue against soy, which hallelujah.
