The cardiovascular argument is out there.
Here's the thing about it though, just quick and dirty.
You're becoming more insulin resistant as your estrogen goes down.
Your muscle quality is becoming more pathologic as your estrogen goes down.
No matter what, no matter how hard you fight against it, your body is declining in those ways.
You're becoming more metabolically compromised no matter what you do.
Not to say you will become metabolically compromised or you will have pathologic muscle, but the process is going that direction unless you're actively fighting it is what I'm trying to say.
The metabolic compromise piece is huge.
Our fat moves, it shifts from a gynoid shape to an android shape, which is more like a man, which is that apple shape.
So we get that visceral fat and that truncal fat.
That is going to significantly play into your cardiovascular health and impact it.
There's a myriad of other things that happen when estrogen goes away, and all of those make cardiovascular disease risk higher.
So this direct like, oh, let's take women and give them estrogen and see if their cardiovascular markers change.
I don't think that's entirely fair because all of these other things are happening physiologically that definitely are leading you down the road to a higher risk of cardiovascular disease.
And then on top of it,
I have seen countless women's labs just shift like that overnight.
They're perfect, and then all of a sudden, boom, serum insulin's high, lipids are all over the place, cholesterol goes through the roof, ApoB's high, LDL's really high, HDL plummets, triglycerides go up.
That is definitely putting you at a higher risk, and that is happening because estrogen is leaving the body.
There's no way around that.
You can take HRT and you can mitigate those labs, but that process is happening.
