Brand name prescription estradiol is bioidentical.
I had a doctor recently tell a patient
that she's cleared to take HRT, but just not be HRT.
And I was like, dude, tell me you don't know what you're talking about by telling me, like, what are you talking about?
All estradiol that is bioidentical to the body's estradiol.
It doesn't have to be compounded.
It can come from a standard pharmacy.
The micronized progesterone that we get from the standard pharmacy or compounded is bioidentical.
Progestins are not bioidentical.
Equine estrogen is not.
And these are not my favorite choices.
I think we can run into trouble.
But this is all that some women are being offered.
And then they're progesterone intolerant, but actually they're progestin intolerant.
And the scary outcomes from the Women's Health Initiative study from over 20 years ago, that was done with progestins.
