And I think that progesterone intolerance comes down to A, people taking something they think is a progesterone and it's not.
B, the delivery system.
C, it might be something else going on with them that needs to be investigated, which I covered in the first part of this podcast.
was look at your overall health, look at your gut health, look at your metabolic health, look at your sleep, look at your stress levels and figure out, because hormones are like a, it's just a balancing act, right?
Sometimes people will get horrific migraines and headaches.
They will get mood and anxiety and rage changes.
I think that in some cases, what we're seeing happen is, in its most simplistic terms, and this is not the formal physiology of it, but the way I was taught early on is when you see somebody react that way to progesterone therapy, you maybe are underdosing them because it kind of makes the estrogen you already have work better, if you will.
And so...
you may actually be pushing, if you're a practitioner using progesterone in a patient, you may be pushing them into a little bit of an estrogen dominant picture.
And you actually have to get the progesterone dose up high enough to overcome that.
And so I know it sounds counterintuitive.
And when women are having a hard time with a dose, you're like, I'm not going to give them more.
But in this case, you may be underdosed.
And I've seen that plenty of times.
Now,
It's a fine line.
And a little bit too much of progesterone suddenly gives you all the same symptoms of having too little.
And next thing you know, you're like gobbling.
