A third question I ask is look at how you think.
How many simultaneously, simultaneously, but completely separate thoughts do you have going on in your head at any one time?
Most people go, oh, at least a dozen.
I've never heard anything less than three.
And again, it's not that they're jumping one thing to another.
They have three things they're thinking about at the same time.
Again, it's like being in a room and having three to five people talking to you on different subjects at the same time, demanding that you listen to them and respond.
It's maddening.
Now, the alpha agonists, when they work, reduce that to one thought, and it's the thought that you want.
The last question I ask is, can you remember a period of time, any time in your life,
longer than about five minutes, and not drug and daze, back in your wild and woolly youth, in which you have been both mentally and physically at peace.
Now, peace is not a very scientific word, but it's the right one.
Most people say, no, my brain is always gone.
It never lets up.
Some people do report that when they're alone in nature, then
their mind shuts down.
They have one thought at a time, they are peaceful.
Otherwise, peace is a fairly rare experience for most people with ADHD.
So those four things get much better, if I'm sure of it, with the alpha agonist.
The problem with the alpha agonist is that most dogs, even in mental health, don't even know they're there, much less how to use them.
