Can routines be detrimental?
Is there anything bad about routines in terms of that tunnel vision?
That someone who really cleaves to their routines, maybe their life will lack spontaneity.
We do sometimes use the word routine a bit um pejoratively to sort of go, Well, it's a bit routine, it's a bit mundane.
In fact, coming to this recording studio, I always used to get the London Underground and I hated it.
And then one day I I can't I think maybe the underground they had to go on strike or something.
I was like, Oh, I'll get a bike.
The bicycle journey took me fifteen minutes and it was absolutely brilliant.
And I've never looked back, but I was absolutely missing out.
I really like that.
Is there an opportunity for the families around the UK at the moment whose lives are being disrupted, they're having a discontinuity because the school year is starting again, to seize this moment and find something positive in what I think a lot of people are probably regarding as a bit of a nuisance?
Oh yeah, that's instantly relatable.
Yeah.
Bass is a a lovely ending.
When we began talking about kids going back to school and finding a routine, to end with a sort of how honest are you being with yourself about your intentions?
I feel like I can feel Chris across the room considering his own intentions about getting his kids to school.
Next time we're really gonna get this organized.
I thought that was very good medicine.
And the thing that I really liked first of all was that I now understand what a routine is.
A routine is a way for your brain to get tunnel vision, that it eliminates choice, it eliminates decision making, it relieves your mental load.
