So after they found Vivian Ritter at the Orange Grove, they searched Marie's home and found all sorts of ransom notes saying that if her children were not released from jail, she would dismember Ritter and then send police body parts one by one.
In the notes, she also threatened to kill the wife of Troy Hall, the judge who handed down Lloyd Dean's life sentence.
She did not kill the judge's wife, although his house had been broken into a few days prior, but nobody was home.
So old mean Marie instead decided to take a shit on his floor.
Yeah.
So unsurprisingly, Marie's second trial didn't go much better than her first.
Despite eyewitness testimony that seemed to support Marie's theory of a third abductor and a handwriting expert saying that he couldn't link the notes to Marie, she was found guilty after the all-white jury deliberated for a few hours.
On December 6, 1968, she was sentenced to death by electric chair.
Marie was sent to Lowell Correctional Facility, remember that place, to await death.
Despite pleas from the prosecutor that she was very dangerous and needed to be in a maximum security environment, she was placed in a minimum security hospital room.
Cartoonish ineptitude strikes again.
