I recently reconnected with a social worker friend of mine to ask about these facts, and they confirmed their truth.
They went on to explain to me that the most dangerous moment for a woman in a domestic violence situation is the moment she tries to leave.
And that multiple times when she met women in prison for murdering their abuser, they'll say even though they're in prison, they finally feel free.
So all this information brought me around to the conclusion that the scariest thing to me is to be a woman in prison.

June 21st, 2006, Federal Correction Institute in Tallahassee.
There was a shootout at the women's prison, which left one guard and one FBI agent dead.
No inmates were involved in said shootout.
Juicy shit, right?
I thought this would be such a fun story to tell when I took over the next episode.
But the truth is, even though it seems like a case that multiple books should have been written about, there really isn't more info than just a couple of articles.
Why?
