play in a group and tell the adults, okay, we're going over here now.
And the adults would be like, okay, come back in 20 minutes.
And you'd be like, I'm going with those kids because I'm studying.
Yes, exactly.
What were you curious to know?
I would ask them all sorts of different things, how it felt to have multiple adults in their lives, what those adults did for them, how kind of interacting with their peers, if it was ever an issue with that.
And I would always ask them three different questions.
One, did they think they would be polyamorous themselves when they grew up?
Mm-hmm.
One was, if you could choose, would you have chosen a different family to grow up in?
And all of the children said no.
They learned so much from this family, even though it was hard sometimes, and even though some of the things they maybe wouldn't replicate in their own lives.
It really said to me that these kids had their needs very well met.
that their need for attention, affection, structure, you know, and that's not even talking about the practical needs of food and shelter, you know, clothing.
And then what was the third question you would always ask, in addition to many other questions?
Um...
I would always ask, so are there any of your parents' partners that you really miss, that, you know, your parents broke up with and you really miss them?
And finally, one kid said, you know, you ask that question
