We're very future focused.

And that's a real gift to work in an institution that's doing that.

And helping visitors and people understand what solutions are available.

So, we had a lovely display in 2023 and it was called How to Build a Low Carbon Home.

And we delivered that exhibition because we realised when talking to a lot of different organisations in the construction industry, we're

The production of cement is really, really carbon intensive, saying, look, there are different ways to design.

Why aren't we embracing new techniques around stone, thatch, cross-laminated timber?

And some of the feedback that we got was that, oh, there's no demand for these different materials.

thought, well, I don't know that it's an option.

It would never occur to me that I could build my house out of stone.

And so, again, that's the role of the museum to inform the public and to encourage them to think of other solutions.

So, we did this lovely display that focused on these different materials.

By the way, none of them very new, very ancient materials.

And we had little explainers.

So, for example,

For the straw section of the exhibition, you know, there's a bit of a myth that maybe your house will catch fire.

And so we had a little explainer saying, you know, huff and puff and blow my house down.

Is this even safe?

Like, yeah, it's safe.
