I think obviously it caused a ton of controversy and pain.
But at the end of the day, I don't know that it completely decided an election one way or another, maybe in certain communities.
But overall, once you get out of the Detroit area, again, people were, in general, exclusively focused on economic issues.
And then if you had a personal view of it in the Detroit area, then it was another issue you cared a lot about.
But it didn't overshadow the biggest issue, which was the economics.
For me, it is a military operation.
I mean, as someone who served three tours in Iraq, it's a military operation with disproportionate use of force that's causing a ton of pain and suffering.
I have not called it a genocide.
And I think, I don't, I honestly, if you're trying to get to
a conclusion of this bloody situation, and there's protests going on right now in Israel about this, then the sort of focus on a word is not bringing us any closer to conclusion of this conflict.
I understand.
I personally don't think it is.
I will say it is a two-year military operation, asymmetric warfare is what we call it, with a terrorist group that's embedding with civilians and a powerful military that's using significant and disproportionate force.
I mean, look, I've been very public about, well, I mean, look, I think the way I think about Israel in general is I hope the way sometimes people look at the United States, like I have real problems with Bibi Netanyahu, real problems.
I mean, some of the things that he has done are breathtaking.
Right.
But that doesn't mean I believe Israel shouldn't have physical security and they shouldn't be the victim of attack.
Similarly, I look at Donald Trump and I hope that people from abroad don't say, well, every American's just like Donald Trump.
You can be frustrated and not like Donald Trump and still believe that America should be secure.
