I was like a kid in Disneyland, but I was I do think I was very grown up and mature and I did what I was told.
I did have a chaperone with me everywhere I went, but I did like I had a job.
I had to go and perform.
So I was very I think I was very good at that.
But then when I came home.
I really, really struggled.
I really struggled.
Because when I went to Beijing, I went there off pure talent and I was still only kind of beginning adolescence.
So my body wasn't really fully changed yet.
And as you go through adolescence, the fat proportions of your body changes, your balance in the water changes, you get muscle different places, you're trying to build muscle.
But when I came home from Beijing, my motivation was like in the bin.
Like it was so hard to go from swimming in a stadium full of 17,000, 18,000 people to then the next competition was the local club gala.
And how do you explain that?
And also because I went to Beijing off talent, I didn't know how to work hard.
Like I was a demon.
Like I was like, I was the most entitled swimmer ever being like, why haven't I got, why haven't I getting faster times?
Why haven't I...
getting PBs, why am I doing this, why am I doing that, why am I winning?
Because I didn't know how to work hard.
Yeah, so Paralympic sport was the only situation that I was ever in and Parasport was the only situation I was ever in where I felt normal because I was surrounded by people with disabilities and it was the only time that I ever saw people who looked like me.
