And then in 2010, I went to boarding school in England and

after my junior cert.

So I went over by myself and there was a girl there who I used to swim against.

Now, she wasn't a breaststroker, but we were the same disability.

And she was just the coolest girl ever.

Her name's Lauren Stedman and she does triathlons.

I know, because I feel like I... And she knows this.

I talk about her all the time and we're still friends.

But seeing her...

being so just sure of herself.

She would joke about getting half price nails.

She drove a car.

She had a boyfriend.

She didn't hide her arm.

She just was herself.

And I wasn't like that at all.

Like I was really introverted.

I was a bit of an emo, had the black hair, had the fringe, hid, wore big black jumpers all the time.

Like I just wanted to be part of the furniture.

Like I didn't want anyone to ever notice me.
