So I want to voice my support for this, our first time on item seven.

Coming forward, as Councilmember Showalter mentioned, on August 21st, we attended a Zoom gathering

from Representative Liccardo.

This was after he had held a press conference where he announced the creation of this toolkit.

And so as part of that, he has put forward basically a draft, an outline of a draft ordinance that would establish a 45-day temporary moratorium

on the establishment, expansion, or change of use of detention and custodial facilities.
