I try to put them in the situation and then provide the context so that the reader roots for the person in spite of what they're doing in much the same way that we would root for your sister or your best friend or

or any of that.

I am fascinated by relationships.

It's what makes the two of you so good at what you do because, you know, you let us have this like window into your, to your lives and to your marriage.

And it's, it's,

you're relatable.

And that's what I try to do with my characters.

You know, you just want to write about real messy, complicated people and they get it wrong.

Sometimes they can laugh at themselves or they can learn from it.

Those are very long winded.

It's not what I'm drawn to.

At the same time, the chick lit, they don't really use that anymore, thank goodness.

Now it's women's fiction, which begs the question, why isn't there men's fiction?

The catch-all, if it's not a genre, is women's fiction.

But, you know, I'm drawn to character driven.

Yes.

And that's what I like to write.

Like getting in, you know, plot's important.

You want to keep the pages turning.

But it's more about how the character arc develops and how we change along the way, which is what I tried to do in Love You More.
