Briefly, it's about a woman who is living and working in New York City, successful doctor, went to medical school at Columbia, engaged to a man she adores, wonderful fellow surgeon.
She gets this phone call out of the blue from her first love that pulls her back to her small Midwestern hometown.
you know, forces her to question her past and also, you know, the direction of her future.
And I think that's a relatable setup.
Well, first of all, I think you would write a fantastic novel that I would blurb and have my quote on the cover.
I'm sure you'd get lots of people.
I think you would be really good at that.
But I think it's just more of a question of, you know, it's like your friends.
You have friends who have run a marathon and they're not your most athletic friends at all or your most fit friends, but they just did it.
So I think it's more about a desire to like...
create this imaginary world.
But for me personally, my process, they, they, you know, I don't know if you've heard the term aerial plotter or a pantser, like do you write by the seat of your pants or the plot?
And I'm sort of in between and that I have a sense of my beginning, middle and end.
And then, um,
you know, but not the details of the plot.
But as I write, the plot evolves based on how I get to know the characters.
Like right now, let's say I moved to Raleigh and I became super close to you, Kim.
