We used to buy most of our kit from America.

We don't have autonomous control over Trident, even though we spend billions and billions each year.
It's all American kit.
Well, if we're not going to be yoked to America for our defence, then we need to start changing it.

If Andy McBurnham becomes the prime minister next week, next month, three months, six months, I don't know.
The problems are the same.
I mean, the problems are the size of the cake, how you divvy it up, how you grow the economy.
What does growth look like?
What are you going to do?
What are you going to do about tax and spend?
Those problems do not go away.
Just because Andy Burnham comes in as prime minister, he may be able to communicate it much better.
He will manage relationships with the Parliamentary Labour Party probably much better.
