I mean, one day when he was getting a transfusion for the sodium thing, he happened to be in a ward where people were having chemo.
And he said to me, I envied them.
So he had four rounds of chemo and then he had a fall because of the sodium issue and the bruise was contraindicated for chemo.
So that had to stop.
And then he was losing vast amounts of weight.
So he was wasting away in front of me and in front of his partner, in front of everybody.
And his illness was entirely siloed.
So he had so many consultants.
He had his kidney consultant in his kidney.
He had his heart consultant for the heart.
He had his HIV consultant, which had actually ended up in a medical cul-de-sac, really.
And he had the electrolyte.
He had the oncologist for the Kaposi's sarcoma.
And Brian was never told he was going to die because each bit was being managed differently.
