Hello and welcome.
Today we're talking about a very hot topic, food noise.
The term food noise went mainstream through weight loss drug advertising.
And like all successful advertising, the term has been picked up by the general population and it's been turned into everyday language, which is why most of us instantly know what that term means.
Food noise?
Mm-hmm.
Yep, I know exactly what you're talking about.
Here's the thing though, I used to have food noise in my head.
It was constant, it was dominating, and
It was there from the moment I woke up in the morning to the moment I went to sleep.
And I don't have it even anymore.
Totally gone.
even though I never ever took a weight loss drug to eradicate it.
Now I want to start by saying I do not have anything against the drugs themselves.
They have very real benefits for so many people.
But I do think the story we're being sold about food noise specifically is incomplete at best.
So today I want to walk you through what food noise actually is, why your brain produces it and
how it's possible to end it for good, like totally.
Without medication, so that if you or someone you love is weighing up taking a weight loss drug, you're making that decision with a much fuller picture.
My name's Emma Wright, I'm a certified cognitive behavioural coach, I'm an intuitive eating coach, and I have a master's degree based in feminist theory.
