And I am the author of the book Body Confident.
After years of trying to feel better by trying to make myself thinner and controlling what I ate, I decided to put all of that behind me and learn how to feel good on the inside.
regardless of how my body looked on the outside.
And that led to a much, much fuller life.
And I have made it my mission to help other smart, successful women do exactly the same.
Okay, so let's get into it.
Let's look at what food noise actually is.
So let's start with a definition because the term food noise I have noticed
in the general population has got very fuzzy.
When people on weight loss drugs describe food noise disappearing, what they usually mean is any thoughts they have about food have gone quiet.
But not all thoughts are intrusive or annoying or frustrating and painful.
In fact, food thinking only feels like food noise when it gets to that painful, intrusive place.
So food noise specifically then are thoughts about food that have become loud, repetitive and hard to ignore, not just simply
food thoughts at all.
So let's look at why our brain are having food thoughts in the first place.
First of all, eating is absolutely fundamental for survival.
We it's as fundamental for survival as breathing.
If we stop eating, we ultimately die.
So we've evolved with signals that tell us to eat.
And those signals include things like a rumbling tummy, low energy, a shift in mood we might call hangry.
