Yeah, it's interesting.
I know we had this conversation a couple years ago when Ross Atkins, like, will Ross Atkins be the guy to beat the Blue Jays into a sell-off?
And obviously that turned out really well for the Blue Jays.
But yeah, the Craig Breslow question is certainly interesting.
I thought it was interesting when the Red Sox fired Cora and they had that press conference.
Ownership in Sam Kennedy was asked, like,
was this an ownership decision and he basically said this was Craig Breslow's decision and we support it so they put a lot of the blame on Breslow and this is a Breslow team right now and this is the roster he's built and there have been some wins the crochet extension obviously a win he's done some really good things beefing up the minor league pitching
There's been a better pipeline of younger guys coming through, but he's really struggled to build an offense.
And they have the worst offense in baseball or the second worst offense in baseball.
They cannot score runs at Fenway Park.
That's almost a default that you can build an offense to hit in that ballpark.
And he's somehow done the opposite.
And like you said, Aroldis Chapman could be dealt.
Sonny Gray could be dealt.
Wilson Contreras could be dealt.
But if this is a team that wants to be good next year β
All three of those players have either a player option, a vesting option, or Contreras is actually under contract next year.
So do you sell high on those players?
to get pieces back, or are they just better off if you keep them and try to run it back again next year and make some moves over the offseason?
But obviously the free agency class this year is not very good, and we also have the pending lockout and a bunch of crazy things that could happen in the CBA.
