So it's not going to be an easy path, and I'm very curious if Breslow is the guy to run this deadline if things continue to go south.

But they can't really get much worse than they are right now.

And I think it's one of the things that I think that has upset a lot of the Red Sox fans so much is that not only is this team not spending like they used to, but they're just not acting, I think, like they used to.

That 2018 team, fully homegrown, but they also spent big.

Dave Dombrowski was obviously in charge at that point.

And they just had an arrogance mentality.

that they knew they were good and they knew they were the Boston Red Sox.

And I don't feel like the Boston Red Sox are the Boston Red Sox that I grew up with anymore.

And I know that Craig Breslow has taken a lot of heat just for a lot of the changes he's made in the front office.

There's reports that he's really siloed things off.

The brain trust in that front office is basically Craig Breslow and a couple other people.

And you can see how that has rubbed a lot of the players and the alumni the wrong way.

And I understand it.

And I do think not only is the product on the field important, but treating your fans is obviously important.

Treating your alumni, especially a team with a history like the Red Sox, is important.

And how they fired Jason Veritek,

I think it's going to rub a lot of people the wrong way.

And as Dustin Pedroia has spoken, he doesn't really want to work with, I think, this group in the front office.

And David Ortiz has spoken recently about John Henry, and he's always had John Henry's back.
