So, in effect, if there wasn't a scrappy training on Thursday, the boys would have thought we weren't ready, you know.

So, that was pretty intense.

Oh, man, we had some good guys in there, you know, Ginger Henderson and Kevin Shuler and Glenn Taylor and those boys.

They weren't shy in putting the bit in, you know, and...

And we built our own team ethos.

Although we were the midweek team, you were the All Blacks.

And the opposition didn't give a shit about whether you were the B team or the A team.

You were the All Blacks.

And you had the front on those days.

And I think the toughest part about the All Blacks midweek team

And I don't know if it's different today, but I guess there's no midweek games.

But after a midweek game, you put your jersey back in the bag, you know, and you might have got one at the end of the trip.

Test team, you play on Saturday, you get to keep your jersey, you know.

So that was one tough part of our playing in the midweek team.
