How do you balance in that recruitment talk with the agents or with the kids and their parents of, and I think maybe you've felt this, you can correct me, but

of we want you to come here and this is the the vision that we have for you and your future without making it just like we're trying to get them and to take them off the table and we you genuinely want them to have that future rather than holding them back and maybe they become dissatisfied and then transfer right because i think we all go into it wanting to have coaches and players want to have this great experience and let's win a national championship together but then sometimes they come and it's like yeah i'm not playing i'm not starting i'm not getting the minutes

So there's that balance, right?

Yeah, it's an interesting dynamic.

I think in the business world, too, it's like, oh, we're training these guys up that are going to go to our competitors.

I think there's a little bit of that, but also you're benefiting from it at the same time.

There's a lot going on there.

And then the playing time, when I was just out of high school, I worked at a place where in high school we had four brothers and then myself that were all really close, really –

And a kid asked, who's going to win one-on-one?

You and these four brothers.

It's like, I would.

And then I was like, if you ask them, it's the same thing.

Yeah, of course.

Because to get to that level, you have to have that edge and that competitiveness and that belief in yourself.

So you have all of that type of personalities in a program of you've been the best your whole life, and now everybody has been the best in their whole life.

So it's kind of hard to sit back and watch when you think, hey, I think I could take that guy.

play it like there's certain things that I'm sure you feel I can feel it like the game's happening you feel it more than you're like cerebrally thinking okay here here you just kind of feel it yeah and so going from the player to a coach now of being able to feel it and then being able to teach it and then being able to enforce it are three I think very different skills and and concepts yeah so as you've had this experience as a coach coming from being a player how have you learned to feel it teach it and enforce it um as you've gone through your career

I think you're speaking to my soul because we definitely feel that of like, all right, we're going to go zone.
