I am Jay Skeets, still here in JD's New York City hotel room bed and alongside me, as always, Tass Mellis.

There's something there. There's something there. Every thousand likes, a piece of clothing comes off. I know you like these feet, but imagine seeing the toes. Get the likes going. Unbelievable game one of the Eastern Conference Finals. Very more than made up for last night's sort of crappy game. One of the Western Conference finals puts it in perspective. That was a bit of a slog.
This one high scoring affair and just obviously a crazy comeback from the Pacers that we're going to get into and they pull it off in overtime. We got to watch this one, not at Madison Square Garden, but but at a bar in where are we? Hell's Kitchen. Yeah. At a bar, Knicks bar, of course, that was packed to the gills. Everybody into the game. Lots of go, Knicks, go type of chance.
And then they lose. So much pain. Oh, my goodness. So, yeah, the Pacers rallied to overcome a 14-point deficit with less than three minutes remaining to take game one of the Eastern Conference Finals 138-135 in overtime over the Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Tyrese Halliburton tying the game with a field goal at the buzzer to send the game to overtime.
This was wild to watch again in a Knicks bar in New York City because it was oh no, oh no, oh no. And then he shoots it. He misses. There's a bit of a pop sort of from the crowd. Gotta stop. The stop looks good. And like Taz said, that thing went so damn high and dropped straight down. And then it's like, oh, my God, did we just lose? And then you get a bunch of people yelling at the screen.
No, his foot's on the line. His foot's on the line. We're going to overtime. But let's be honest, as soon as it went to overtime. Not a lot of confidence from the Knicks fans that they would pull it out after that crazy comeback from Neesmith and from Halliburton shot.
You didn't think the Knicks were going to win in overtime.
They were up 14 with 250 to go.
People were leaving. People were in that bar. People left. Left. Got the bill. Got their coats on. See ya.

He keeps hitting threes, but they're not getting stops here.
Oh, yeah. And I mean, to go back to Nembhard in overtime, they were running offense through him. There were plays where Halliburton was off ball in the corners, like Nembhard, go to work. And obviously he had the corner three, had that other bucket.
And then that beautiful pass from Halliburton one time when it was in his hands, Nembhard cuts back door, gives like just a little shovel underhand pass. Like in overtime, like it's sort of a play you do like maybe early in the game.
when it felt like an all-star game there for the first 12 minutes of this game, when no one was like being able to stop the other team, like what a play and the trust in each other. But yeah.
Neesmith turned into Klay Thompson game six, Klay Thompson. Like, that's when every three started getting crazier. He was like either deeper, more off balance. And then the one where we were like, oh, he got fouled, I guess. But we were like, he didn't shoot it right away.
Just going straight up. What a heater. What a heater. So listen to this. Prior to tonight. This sounds fake. NBA teams were 977 and 0 in the playoffs when leading by at least 14 points with 250 or less remaining in the game. We've never seen it before. You can add the 1 to that because the Pacers win.
And Halliburton crazy shot against the box in that series game winner against the Cavs in the second round. And now this one to obviously get it into overtime would have been nuts if it was the game winner and the feet were behind the line.
Yeah. He lost the ball. Like, he started to lose control of his dribble. Regained it. Like you said, could have taken a shot inside. Sort of did what he did with that calf shot. He's like, he just turns around. He goes, whoop, whoop, whoop. Runs right to the back of the three-point line. Fired it up. And obviously, the toes were on the line. I mean, that was very clear.
