They are taking this seriously.

Actually, what I wanted to hear and what women across the country wanted to hear was that was completely unacceptable.

We did not know that that candidate had these views.

Now, that is not what we are seeing or hearing from reform, either through the ranks or at the top of the party through its leadership.

And that is deeply concerning because what that does is it begins to

strategically, systematically unpick a consensus that most parties have had for a very long time, that violence against women and girls is real, the perpetrators need to be held accountable, and we will tackle it.

Now, political parties have subsequently done less or more, but the narrative has always been broadly that.

So the reform narrative is stepping away from that, and that is deeply concerning.

I mean, I think if, I mean, the worrying thing is if that's the perception of an ordinary man, what you're doing is creating an environment which suggests that that is completely normal behavior to be misogynistic and sexualizing women, objectifying women is a normal thing to do.

I think it's deeply concerning.

The one thing that I don't want to see, and women who are survivors, women at large don't want to see, is violence against women and girls weaponized to an anti-migrant or even racist agenda.

Now, that is a deeply concerning and factually incorrect set of pronouncements.

And you're missing the point.

Because as you say, the vast majority of perpetrators are known to those who are being abused, to the victims of their crimes.

So this is completely untrue.

And we know

There is no particular religion, race, minority, ethnic group that has a higher case of perpetrating violence.

That's not the case at all.

So Borg is being weaponized for a particular political agenda.
